BMI Calculator

The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a number calculated from a person’s height and weight which gives an approximate measure of body fat. Excess body fat is the main cause of weight-related diseases. As a person’s BMI increases, so does the risk for diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and certain cancers.

While BMI is a very good approximate measure of body fat, BMI does not precisely measure the exact percentage of fat. For example, athletes have a high muscle-fat ratio and may have a high BMI rating yet be in excellent health. Thus, it is important to talk to your doctor regarding your personal health condition.

To calculate your BMI, enter your height (in feet and inches) and weight (in pounds) and click on your gender.

Then click the “Compute BMI” button to get your BMI.
